Lester Raymond Aarsby of Carstairs, Alberta, passed away peacefully in the Didsbury
Hospital on January, 3rd, 2022 at the age of 88 years surrounded by his immediate family.
Lester was the youngest of four children born to Clifford and Beatrice Aarsby.
Lester’s early schooling was at Banner School west of Carstairs, finishing off his
education in Carstairs, to start farming alongside Clifford and Clarence.
He met his soul mate Rene Weber in 1950, they married on July 18th 1955 and moved
on to the family farm. There they raised three children, Terry, Joanne and David.
Les and Rene continued to farm with David and his sons.
Lester never really fully retired until his health forced the decision.
Lester is survived by his wife Rene; children Terry (Donna) Aarsby, Joanne (Mike) Cottrell and David Aarsby: 7 grandchildren; Kyle (Sydnie), Brandon (Jennifer), Kendall (Cassandra), Paul Aarsby (Emily), Ross (Christine) Aarsby, Blake (Justine) McDonald and Troy (Nicole) McDonald; 9 great grand – children Paige, Havana, Theodora, Addy, Calvin and Fletcher Aarsby, Avery, Cash and Austin McDonald
He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Val Edmondson and Beryl Francis and his brother Clarence Aarsby. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Carstairs Bancroft United Church or Canadian Cancer Society.
