Obituary of Leslie Peter Logan
It is with deep sadness that the family of Leslie Logan must announce his passing on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 82.
Born on September 22, 1939 in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Mary Agnes (Mollins) and Leslie Merritt Logan.
Les graduated from the Atlantic Baptist University in Moncton and went on to be employed at the Saint John Hospital in Geriatrics. He then took a position as a guard at the Dorchester Penitentiary in Correctional Services for 25 years. He enjoyed camping, travelling, square dancing and doing puzzles. He loved to work with his hands and could fix or make anything, including elaborate costumes for his wife for square dancing. Les loved to fish, especially flounder in Five Islands. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Les will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Lillian Marie (Maxwell) Logan; his children, Lesley (Pat) McManaman, Britt Marie (Bill) Gothreau, Paul Frederick Logan and Sheila Dawn (Wayne) Peters; his 16 grandchildren, Melissa Wood, Corey McManaman, Kelsey McManaman, Brenden McManaman, Paul Gothreau, Joey Gothreau, Christine Bezanson, Sarah Gouthreau, Madeline Audrey Stewart, Joshua Logan Stewart, Meghan Anne Stewart, Emily May Peters, Ashton Wayne Peters, Colin Logan, Mitchel Logan and Nicole Page; his 7 great-grandchildren, Sadie McManaman, Trinity Galpin, Keegan Galpin, Clara Bezanson, Karter Glen Stewart, Ethan Wood and Brayden Wood; special family member, Kim Taylor of PEI, as well as by his sister-in-law, Eileen (Earl) Moore of Sus.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother, Paul William Logan; his sister-in-law, Bertha Alma (Leith) Robertson, as well as by his brothers-in-law, Almond Herbert Maxwell and Cecil Arnold Maxwell.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Due to the covid-19 situation and in keeping with the family’s wishes, a private visitation will take place for his immediate family. A graveside service will take place in the spring in the Bayfield Cemetery with details to be announced.
