Obituary of LeRoy Stuart Allaby
After a life well lived, LeRoy Allaby, beloved husband of Rita Allaby (nee Doherty), passed away at the Saint John Region Hospital on September 12, 2022. Roy, as he was known to most, was born in England on August 23, 1944, and came to Canada at 9 months old with his parents. He spent his life in Passekeag.
Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 55 wonderful years, Rita; his two special boys, Spenser (Emily) and Mitchell (Michelle) Sherwood; godfather Bill (Mary) Murphy; siblings: Suzanne (Paul), Lorraine (Stephen), Carol (Martin), Andrew (Cindy), Tim (Peggy), and Faith (Scott); sister-in-law Anne Davidson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Roy is predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Ivy Allaby; brothers, Mark and Bruce Allaby; and brothers-in-law, Eddie Mercer and Colin Campbell.
Roy loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and angler. He was a hardworking man who held many jobs over his lifetime. He was also a faithful member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Upham.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), Hampton, NB. There is no visitation at Roy’s request, however a funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 1:00 PM from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Upham, NB. Donations in memory of Roy may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through ReidsFH.com
