Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Leroy Wade Bueckert. Leroy passed away in Goodlow, BC the morning of February 19, 2022 at the age of 36.
Leroy was born in Fort St. John, BC on December 17, 1985 to Fritz and Sarah Bueckert. He was little brother to Jerry Bueckert and big brother to James Bueckert and Gloria Bueckert. Leroy was a lifelong resident of Goodlow.
Growing up Leroy loved swimming, playing hockey, quadding, snowmobiling, camping, hunting, fishing, and just sitting around the fire.
Leroy attended Clearview Elementary Jr School, Kindergarten thru grade 10, then onto high school at North Peace Secondary School.
Leroy welcomed a baby girl on March 26, 2007 ~ Hailey Jane Bueckert, who he loved unconditionally.
In the summer of 2008 Leroy met Kasey while camping with friends at Ole’s Lake. Then in early 2009, they became fast friends. It wouldn’t be until May 2011 when they became a couple. Leroy proposed to Kasey in December 2011, and they were married September 1, 2012. Joining their families together Leroy became a Dad to two more little girls ~ Janascia and Mikaya. Then on July 13, 2013 Leroy and Kasey welcomed a baby boy ~ Bryson Jace Waylon, and on May 16, 2017 they welcomed their baby girl ~ Greyden Amalie Grace.
Leroy’s first jobs were working on local farms , then swamping at Troyer Ventures and Kelor Rentals. Leroy found his calling when he started working at Norwest Pumpjack Services, where he worked until his death. He drove the freightliner and loved what he did. Leroy was never scared of hard work and would drop everything to help family or friends if needed.
Now as an adult Leroy enjoyed coaching Bryson’s hockey and baseball teams. He enjoyed playing baseball in the summer as well as quadding, hunting, fishing, and spending time camping with his family.
Leroy never stopped chasing his dream, and in 2021 these dreams were started when the first crop of barley was put in the ground with his brother James, wife Kasey, and his parents. With lots of hiccups the crop was harvested and the farm started to expand as they prepared more land for 2022.
Even with Leroy gone, his memory, dreams, and love will be carried on by his wife, children, brothers, and many other family members.
Funeral service for Leroy will be held Friday, March 4 at 12:00pm at 2402 244 Rd, Goodlow, BC followed by interment at the Goodlow Cemetery. Those wishing to make donations in Leroy’s memory can do so at the service by way of donation to the his family.
