Leonard Greenfield
It is with profoundly heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Leonard Greenfield on Monday, January 10, 2022, at the age of fifty-eight. Adored husband of Marcy Claman for thirty three years. Loving son of Theodore (Ted) and Betty Greenfield. Dear son-in-law of the late Percy (Perry) and Lorraine Claman. Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Michael Greenfield and Judy Ingerman and brother-in-law of Karen and Morrie Cuttler. Loving nephew of Saul Greenfield. Cherished fur dad of Lexxie and Jasper. Leonard will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Private graveside service. Shiva strictly private. Contributions in his memory may be made to www.canadahelps.org/en/donate (Chateau B’nai Brith – B’nai Brith House).
Lenny was quite simply the sweetest person you’d ever want to meet. Kind, gentle, funny, and loving. Easy going, down-to earth, and a real people person. He was the guy to call when you were having a hard time with life’s problems or a business dilemma. Lenny was a gifted listener, teacher, and communicator, with the patience and caring to explain anything to anyone at anytime.
In his youth, Lenny was trained as a leader in BBYO, serving as his chapter President and then as President of the Laurentian Region. He attended many leadership conferences in this period. While he was passionate about the computer business, he first obtained his B.Com. and C.A., practicing in accounting firms for 10 years. He then ventured into the software development business, applying the knowledge and experience he had acquired, which he carried on until the present.
Professionally, Lenny was the picture of perseverance in all that he took on. A numbers whiz and computer guru with incredible business sense. The most rewarding part of Lenny’s profession as a CA (for 10 years), then as a software developer, was to analyze businesses and systems, then work endlessly to provide the best solution. His clients knew that they could rely on him as a highly conscientious and trusted business consultant who always had their best interests at heart.
As a gifted musician, Lenny had the creativity and sensitivity of an artist. He also loved home renovation and cooking shows. He became so proficient in the kitchen that he would whip up restaurant-quality meals without a recipe, while Marcy was his trusty sous-chef in charge of cleaning up his tornado of a kitchen mess. He also became a political junkie over the last few years, watching and weighing in on North American and World politics.
Lenny met Marcy in the Sir Winston Churchill High School Band in grade 9. He rigged the Christmas raffle so he could get her name and get to know her so he could ask her out. It worked, and they were inseparable through nine years of dating plus thirty three years of marriage. They recognized in each other kindred souls—never running out of conversation and always trying to make the other one laugh.
There are no words to express how much we love you and will miss you. The world seems emptier knowing you’re not here.
“You are my love in my life. You are my inspiration. Just you and me. Simple and free.”
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Leonard Greenfield 2022..
