Leona’s home was a place that was always filled with love. She spent her entire life taking care of those who meant the most to her and this gave her great joy. Her home was the gathering place of the family, and after the passing of her mother, she proudly took on the role of family matriarch. She was a natural caregiver, and she showed her love for you in what she knew best–food. Every time you stepped in the door of her home, you were greeted with “Now my love, what are you going to have to eat? Are you hungry? Let me put something on for you. You want a sandwich?” For Leona, food was love and in the home that Leona and Bern shared, there was always an abundance of both. She held unconditional love for her family and nothing was more important to her than her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Leona also had a large circle of friends and community members who cared deeply about her. She spent many years running her businesses in the community, and built strong relationships throughout these years. This was evidenced when she was diagnosed with cancer several years ago. Her community of family and friends rallied around Leona, and gave her immense support. This illustrates that the love she held so dearly for everyone in her circle, was so strongly reciprocated. Leona was loved and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her and she will be greatly missed.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Leona Margaret White December 13 1947 January 14 2022..
