Obituary of Leo Joseph Murray
We are saddened to announce the death of Leo, a man of great faith, on July 21, 2022 at the age of 93. Devoted husband and best friend of Christina for 67 years. Beloved father of Teresa, Clare, Anne and Paul (both deceased). Proud grandfather of Charlotte, Emily (Tyler), Ana Maria and Keionja. Special brother-in-law to Michael (Pat) and loyal friend of Pat de Santis. Brother to Rev. Father Owen, Philip, John (Pauline) and Stella, uncle to nieces and nephews in England. Leo started his teaching career in England and after 20 years he continued it in Canada with the HWCDSB for another 21 years. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Dr., Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Prayers 7:45pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 304 Highway 8, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Boyle and to the staff of the 5th floor of Mary Grace Wing at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their care and compassion.
