Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Predeceased by his parents John Vincent Sosnowski and Evelyn Marie Boissonneau and his brother Gerard Vincent Sosnowski. Dear brother of Marianne (Terry) Acheson, Cathleen (Eckhard) Eichhorn, John (Claire) Sosnowski, Winnifred Elliot, Susanne Lehr (George), Maureen (Ken) Pyle, Frances Drew (Mike), Paula Sosnowski (Dave), Monica (George) Szajko. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Leo was always a gentleman with a quiet nature, who also displayed a flair for dramatics and a mischievous sense of humour. He was affectionately known by his family and childhood friends as “Weasel”, a reflection of his sneaky side.
Leo loved outdoor adventures along the Niagara Escarpment while growing up in Milton Heights. He continued to commune with nature while fishing, bird watching and enjoying the peaceful outdoors while visiting the Muskoka district. He enjoyed starting the bon fires and setting off fireworks at family gatherings.
Leo loved music. He was an accomplished pianist who could play beautiful classical music but also jump to the electric keyboard to play rock. In his teen years he was part of a band called The Burgundy Mist. Later in life he would relax to the tunes from his record collection.
Leo was a wonderful man who will be missed by many.
Cremations has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Milton Evergreen Cemetery, Milton, ON. Donations in his memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Personal condolences may be sent at www.mcbeathdynes.ca
