Peacefully at home, on July 5, 2022, Eugene (Gene) MacAulay, of Souris River, PEI, was called home to his Lord and Savior. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 62 years Betty (Lewis) MacAulay, and their children Mary (Stephen); Kenneth (Mary Beth); David (Chrissy); Claire (Eric); Mark (Liz); Robert (Stacey); Bethany (Parry); Juanita (Greg) and Laura (Randy).
Sadly missed by 25 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; his brother Fr. Gerard; sisters- in-law Estelle, Mary Jo, and Anna, and brother-in-law David (Marilyn) and numerous nieces and nephews. Eugene was the youngest of 11 children of Frank and Marguerite MacAulay of Souris Line Road and he was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Matilda, Joseph, Peter, Pauline, Francis, Bernard, Fr. Adolphus, Fr. Kenneth and Charles.

Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home where visiting hours will take place on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 4-7pm. A funeral mass will be held in the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Souris on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00am with interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gene can be made to the Eastern Kings Health Foundation (Home Care) or the Souris Home Equipment Loan Program.
