Giles, Leo Charles 1934 – 2022
Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital with his loving family by his side on Monday, December 12, 2022 in his 89th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Agnes (2017) and his step-daughter Marsha (1978). Loving father of Angela Daley (Dan) and dear step-father of Mitzi Gimenez (Alain), Melanie Stevenson (Carlo) and Robert Mitchell. Sadly missed by his sister Mary White and predeceased by his brother Robert.
Cherished grandfather of David Stevenson (Anamaria), Wesley Stevenson (Andreia), Brent Stevenson, Kristen Statema (Case), Steven Aston (Veronica), Kelly Aston, Samantha Mitchell and 9 great-grandchildren.
Leo often reflected on his Air Force days and his childhood memories of growing up in Fonthill. He was an excellent woodworker. He enjoyed working on his home to make it as enjoyable as possible for his family.
Family and friends will be received at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Friday, December 16th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service to honour Leo’s life will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, December 17th beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Fonthill Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or to Pelham Cares.
