Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of Lenora Anton announce her passing on March 31, 2022 at the Rosetown & District Health Centre at the age of 90 years.
Lenora was born on December 14, 1931 in Rosetown and was raised on Frank and Margaret Veitenheimer’s farm. She attended school in Sovereign and eventually moved to Sovereign after marrying Mike Anton in 1951. Lenora worked many jobs throughout her life and was a dedicated, hard worker at each of them. She worked at the drugstore in Rosetown, the grocery store and the post office in Sovereign, she was the bookkeeper at Anton’s Farm Equipment, worked as the secretary/treasurer for the town of Sovereign as well as volunteered her time and knowledge on many committees in the community of Sovereign including the rink, hall, church and cemetery as well as her involvement with the Royal Purple.
Lenora enjoyed knitting many treasures for her family, planting her garden, baking delicious treats and curling. She was hard-working for both her family and community, caring, fun-loving – she always willing to share a laugh, a story or a visit. She was strong during adverse times which she persevered with grace, a homemaker extraordinaire and the perfect hostess when you were an invited guest or just popped in for a visit, she was truly a beautiful woman and those that were lucky to know and love her will miss her deeply.
Lenora will be sadly missed by her family: daughter Sharon (Gerry) Fix, granddaughter Tanya (Lawrence) and children Tanner and Grace, grandson Jason (Leslie) and children Merle and Walter, grandson Dean (Trinity) and children Mason and Khiya; daughter Donna Anton, granddaughter Tammy (Mike) and children Violet and Spencer, granddaughter Lisa (Ramon) and daughter Lola; daughter Debbie (Tom) Carr, granddaughter Candice (Ryan) and children Hannah and Brooklyn; son-in-law John (Audrey) Janex, grandson Christopher (Andy) and children Cruz, Presley and Steele, grandson Randy; brothers Francis (Irene) Veitenheimer and Sherman (Irene) Veitenheimer; sisters Darlene Smith and Gloria (Wayne) Burton as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Mike Anton in 2015, daughter Patty in 1982 and brother-in-law Ian in 2021.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held. A Memorial Tea will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Lenora may be made to the Sovereign Hyland Cemetery, P.O. Box 1932, Rosetown, SK, S0L 2V0.
