BROWN, Eileen “Lee” Lynda Marguerite
Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Stratford general hospital. Lee was born in Listowel, Ontario 72 years ago, and was the daughter of the late Wallace and Marguerite (Ash) Small.
Beloved wife of John Brown, whom she married on July 28, 1972. Cherished and devoted mother of John “Brice” Brown and wife Laura and Ian Brown and wife Laura Lee. Proud grandmother of Caden, Nolan, Ava and Liam. Lee will be missed by her sisters; Mavis Copeman (Larry), Lois Baillie (Murray), Jean Hohnstein (Doug) Shirley Dietrich (Vincent) and Inez Vickerman (Brian). Survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; David Brown (Charlene), Glenna Prince (Don McDonald), Liz Fleming (Ernie), Catherine Kelman (Jim), Dianne McFadzean (John), Heather Bennewies (Warren), Jim Brown (Sandy), Andrew Brown (Janet) and Rob Brown (Jody) as well as by her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Herbert and Jane Brown, nephews, Travis Brown and Jim Prince and by brother-in-law Tom Prince.
Lee was a member of Burns Presbyterian Church and was actively involved in the Women’s Auxiliary with the Army and Navy Club. She spent many years as a Beaver Leader, and enjoyed crafting, woodworking and beading. Lee was a huge sports enthusiast and enjoyed cheering on the Toronto Maple Leaf’s, Blue Jays and a good game of curling. John and Lee could often be found on many local golf courses enjoying the game together.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton, on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. The funeral will take place on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Cremation to follow with a private interment in the Listowel Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations would be accepted to Heart & stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Lymphoma Society and can be done through the funeral home.
