Lawrence David Anthony 2022

ANTHONY, Lawrence David
Westmount
It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Lawrence David Anthony on Thursday January 6, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Westmount on January 16, 1943, he was the son of the late Russell and Jean (McGowan) Anthony.
Lawrence was always the life of any party. His family and Many friends could always count on him for endless laughs and practical jokes. His sense of humor knew no bounds. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed time in the woods hunting, fishing, or on his 4-wheeler. Oftentimes, he had one or the other grandson by his side. He was an active member in the Isle Royal ATV Club. One of his favorite activities was- camping in the highlands with his family and friends. So many loved him and enjoyed his company and easy nature. He had a few boats over the years, but by far the best times were had on The Morning Mist. Swimming off the stern in the Bras D’or Lakes was a summertime favorite. Always up for a road trip to visit a brother or sister, you could count on him to make the trip a memorable one.
He started his career in the automotive industry working as an Auto Body Technician and eventually became and Auto Appraiser. He worked for a few companies over the years, eventually starting his own business, LA Appraisals. Lawrence was also a well-known school bus driver in Westmount and surrounding areas. Once he retired from this, he began to concentrate mostly on antique appraisals for Silver Wheels. Lawrence was a long-standing member of the Westmount Fire Dept. and served for 25 years, the last of which he was a Captain.
Lawrence is survived by his son David (Rebecca), Westmount, grandsons Riley and Liam, sisters Lorna (Dennis) O’Day, Worchester, Mass., Carol Ann (Jim) Manson, Cornwall, ON, and Betty Morris, Prime Brook, brothers Sonny, Westmount, Gordon, Oromucto, and Weston, Dominion, sister-in-law Patricia (Freddy) MacLellan and Barbara Gouthro.
He was predeceased by his wife Geraldine (Routledge),daughter Gail, brother Beverley, sisters-in-law Lillian and Dawna Anthony, brothers-in-law Stewart Morris and David Gouthro.
