Boyko, Lawrence
Peacefully after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer at Ed’s House (Cobourg) on May 10, 2022. Lawrence was born in The Pas, Manitoba to the late Samuel and Margaret (Gashyna) Boyko.
Survived by his loving wife Lois (Main) of 61 years; his children Richard (Sandra), Stephen (Jacqueline) and Jane; and his four grandchildren Andrew, Stephanie, Lois, and Margaret.
Brother to William (Sharon) and the late Peter and Phillip.
Lawrence moved to Toronto (1941) with his family and then onto the family farm in Newtonville (1948). During high school Lawrence was a Cadet Major and led a parade of 1500 cadets. He was one of the surveyors for the Trans-Canada Highway north of Sault Ste. Marie.
Lawrence was a long time Scout leader taking cubs and scouts on many camping and canoe trips north of Lakefield and to two Canadian Jamborees (CJ’77, CJ’81).
