LAVIGNE, Sheila
November 6, 1942 — March 9, 2022
Sheila Lavigne passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, March 9, 2022, at the age of 79, in Kelowna, BC.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 31 years, René; her children Deborah, Karen (Curtis), and April; grandchildren Julianna, Lucas, Genevieve, Natasha, and Naomie; brother Richard (Diana) and sister-in-law Rene (d. George); mother-in-law Jeanne; sisters-in-law Theresa (Darcy), Suzanne (Michael); brother-in-law Denis (Daryl); and nieces and nephews Graham (Brenda), Charlene (Bonnie), Dean (Tiffany), Colin, Phil, Shelby, and Cassidy. Those who went before her include her parents Alexander and Elizabeth; father-in-law Edward; brother George; and daughter Lori.
Sheila moved to Canada from England, settling in Victoria, BC. She relocated to Kelowna, BC where she raised her daughters. Meeting René at a social event in 1990, they went on to marry in 1991. Sheila worked for the government pension department and retired early. She went on to work even harder at the mobile pizza truck she owned with René. They followed a circuit with the truck for 3 years.
Sheila was loving, caring, supportive, and always there when a friend or loved one was in need.
A special thank-you to Kelowna General Hospital ICU ward for the compassionate care Sheila received when she was there in 2016.
A Memorial Service will be held WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16, 2022, at 1:00 PM (PDT), at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
