LAURINE BIFFIS
August 30, 1932 – August 13, 2022
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Laurine Biffis. She passed away peacefully at Chartwell Royal on Gordon Retirement Residence in Guelph, the morning of Saturday, August 13, 2022, approaching her 90th birthday.
Beloved wife of the late Rudy Biffis (2009) for 58 years. Devoted mother to Deborah Crawford, Denise Biffis, Brian Biffis (Pamela), Catherine Biffis, Theresa Thomas (Daniel), the late William Biffis (1994), Laurie Biffis (Giovanni), Timothy Biffis (Cathy), Monica Truax (Sam), Joel Biffis (Melanie). Caring grandmother “Nonie” to 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
She will be greatly missed by her sister and brother-in-law Yvonne and Roy Thornley. Predeceased by her brother William Stacey and sister June (Charles) Hall. She will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Laurine was a rock, strong and loyal, and loved her family unconditionally. She lived her life for her family. She was her husband’s caregiver for over 20 years after he suffered spinal cord damage from a fall. She loved singing and sang in the church choir at St. Joseph’s in Acton. Her passion was cooking and she loved nothing more than to whip up something amazing in the kitchen for her family. After her husband passed, she bought a condo by the lake in Cobourg and it was her happy place for ten years before she resided at Chartwell in Guelph.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Chartwell Royal on Gordon Retirement Residence for their care and compassion, as well as Bayshore Home Health, Care Partners, and Home and Community Care Support Services.
The family will receive friends at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph, on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Church at 10 am. A reception to follow at the funeral home.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Star Santa Claus Fund or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada would be appreciated.
