Obituary for
Laurier Desrochers
In loving memory of Laurier Desrochers, who passed away Thursday, September 8, with family at his side, months shy of his 96th birthday, after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Claire (Noël) and loving father of six children. This July, the family was fortunate to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary together, in St. Charles. Loving father of Louise (predeceased), Colette (Gaetan Roy), Linda, Monique (Jacques Gauthier), Cleo (Tracy MacLeod) and Bruno (Kathy Palkovits). He had a very special place in his heart for his 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Alvina Desrochers, and siblings André “Joe”, Marcel and Jeanne D’Arc. Lovingly remembered by his family and many friends. Born on the family farm in St. Charles, he made the area home for his family. He was an active volunteer with Knights of Columbus, Club Alidor and as a Fire Chief. He will be remembered for his smile and kind and gentle disposition. His family would like to thank the wonderful people at the Maison McCulloch Hospice for the extraordinary care and compassion they showed Laurier and his family in the final weeks of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be greatly appreciated. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St-Charles Borromée Church in St. Charles, Ontario. Family will welcome friends at the Church after 10 a.m. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
