Lauri Allan Wiljala Saturday April 2nd 2022

Lauri Allan Wiljala passed away peacefully on April 2, 2022 in St. Joseph’s Hospital after a six month illness. He was born on June 2, 1932.
Lauri enjoyed a long career in the construction industry. Prior to working at Superior Maintenance and Hacquoil Construction, he was self-employed with his own truck. After retiring in 1995, he took over the kitchen, cooking delicious meals for his family. He was always outdoors, busy with projects, maintaining his vintage tractors and the yard. He liked road trips to Minnesota and Western Canada. Edmonton and the Rocky Mountains were his favourite destinations
Lauri is survived by his wife of 60 years Celia, daughter Laura, sister Anita Reinsmith (Wally), brother-in-law Bill Hautala (Jude), sister-in-law Lillian Ronald, and numerous relatives in Canada, the United States and Finland. He is predeceased by his parents, brothers Onni, Ray, Karl and sister Aune Paterson, and brother-in-law Stuart Ronald. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
We would like to thank Dr. Probizanski and Andrea for many years of care, the staff on the second and fourth floor of St. Joseph’s Hospital who looked after Lauri, and Sargent & Son Funeral Home. A special thank you to Ed Ronald for his assistance during this time.
