It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Laura Murphy of Rushoon announces her passing. Laura passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center in Burin on Thursday, march 10th, 2022 at the age of 84.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her; sons, Roy (Tonia) of Rushoon, Frank of Boat Harbour, Kenneth of St. John’s, and Raymond (Heidi) of Lewisporte; daughters, Alice of Rushoon, Madonna (Greg) of Winterland, Delores (Jamie) of Fox Cove, Martha (Phonse) of St. Bernard’s, Rose (Merrick) of Grand Beach, Tina (Kevin) of Texas, and Ann of Marystown; special grandson, Cole; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha McCommon (Rick) of Mississippi; brother, Arch Barron (Mercedes) of Freshwater; niece, Diane Barron, who we can’t tank enough for all your help during moms last days; and special friend, Effie Moores of Nova Scotia; plus a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Laura was predeceased by her husband, John Murphy of 48 years; her parents, Fergus and Annie Barron; son, Kevin; sisters, Alice and Carmel; brothers, Alonzo and Arthur; niece, Carnie, and grandson, Reggie.
The Murphy Family would like to say thank you to the staff at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center for their care and compassion; special thank you to Cynthia who went above and beyond for our mom, it will never be forgotten.
As per Laura’s wishes, cremation will take place.
A private family service will take place at Wiseman’s Funeral Home in Marystown on Tuesday, March 15th at 1pm. Inurnment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Rushoon.
In Laura’s memory in lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Murphy Family.
