It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Laura Marie McKinnon. Laura left us peacefully after unforeseen complications from surgery on September 19, 2022, in Burnaby. Laura was born on June 27, 1971, in New Westminster and lived in Cloverdale at the time of her death.
Laura grew up in Richmond where she made lifelong friends. She proudly pursued a post-secondary education all her life and enjoyed a lengthy career as an achieved accountant. Laura was an avid traveller and explored all parts of the world whenever she could get away. There was even a time in her life when she combined her love of travel and her professional career when she ran away and joined the circus! For more than two years she toured with the Cirque Du Soleil show called Alegria and visited many cities in Europe.
Laura’s life is celebrated by her sister, Catherine Kucheran and brother-in-law Darren, her nephews Justin and Jeffrey and niece Jennifer. She was predeceased by her parents Donald and Ann McKinnon. Along with her family, she is survived by her partner Elroy Venter, and her many friends. Her passing leaves an immense void in her family and friends’ lives. Her one-of-a-kind laugh and beaming smile will dearly be missed by everyone who knew her.
