Obituary of Larry Metcalfe
Metcalfe: Larry Charles-
A resident of Ridgetown, Larry Metcalfe passed away suddenly at home on May 10, 2022 at the age of 75.
Born in Chatham, Larry was the son of the late Charles and Marion Metcalfe.
Beloved husband of Ruth for 40 years.
Dear father of Christine Maure (Dan), Ronald Metcalfe (Sherry), Jan Metcalfe (Dave) and Stacy Lehr (Herb).
Proud grandfather to Hiliary (Nick), Christian, Caeden, Gabrielle, Abbigail, Elizabeth, Samson and Jerome and great-grandfather to Alora and Bodhi.
Larry is survived by his sisters Brenda Carther (Brian), Barbara Cudmore and his brother Lanny Metcalfe (Cherie); brother-in-law Robert Krouse (Kim), Guy Krouse (Frans DeMars), Linda Benoot (Brian). Predeceased by his father and mother in law John and Fay Krouse ;brother in law Douglas Cudmore, and his sister in-law Karen Stuivenberg.
Larry will also be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Larry was a life long employee of RJ Simpson in Thamesville. He was an avid black powder rifle shooter. He was a member of Trails End Gun Club, Canadian Muzzle Loader Team, representing Canada internationally. He still holds many international records that he achieved by using guns he hand crafted himself. Larry also enjoyed his time fishing and boating as well as watching classic John Wayne movies.
In keeping with Larry’s wishes cremation has taken place, a celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations to honour Larry’s life can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
