Obituary
Larry Diduck, age 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Kelowna’s Hospice House following a courageous battle with cancer. Larry was born on May 31, 1945 in Mundare, AB and grew up in Edmonton.
Larry will be lovingly and forever remembered by his sons Geoff Diduck (Leah Webster); Brad (Liena) Diduck; daughter Cheryl Robinson (Ryan); mother Helen Szafran-Diduck; sisters Lydia (Nestor) Malowany and Pat Diduck; Linda Diduck, the mother of his children; five grandchildren: Wesley, Rhys, Logan, Myles and Isla; sister-in-law Brenda Dersch; aunt Loretta Schnepper, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Larry was predeceased by his father John Diduck of Edmonton.
Larry worked as a plumber until he enlisted in the Canadian Airforce in 1966 where he trained as a firefighter. After his discharge in 1970, Larry would go on to maintain a career in firefighting for the next 20 years. After a brief retirement, Larry kept himself busy by working part-time in the plumbing department at Rona.
Larry had a playful personality and was well known for his practical jokes, witty sense of humour and writing funny poems and songs. Larry will be warmly remembered and his legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of his friends and family.
We would like to give recognition to the palliative care team, nurses and staff at Kelowna Hospice House for their incredible service.
There will be no funeral service at Larry’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kelowna Hospice House in Larry’s honour would be appreciated. Condolences and memories can be sent to the family by visiting everdenrust.com
