Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce that on Monday, June 13, 2022, Lameata “Meata” Stroud at the age of 75, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her loving husband Michael. Meata is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Jeff Stroud (Wendy) of Astorville, and Jamie Stroud (Tiffany) of British Columbia. The grandchildren, Hannah, Nicholas, Journey and Cypress will forever cherish the memories of their “Nanny”. Meata will be sadly missed by her siblings, Susan Weimann (Peter), Sheila May (Michael deceased) of North Bay, Violet Slaunwhite (Merle deceased), Mildred Boucher (Billy deceased) and her brother Gordon Williams (Irene deceased). Predeceased by her parents Harry and Elizabeth Williams, and her brothers; George, Chesley, Freeman (Susan), James (Edna). Meata had a zest for life, and she left a lasting impression on all the people that she met in her travels. A special thank you to Dr. Leckie and the MAID program, your compassion and caring will never be forgotten and to Whispering Pines Funeral Home, the Eide family’s care and generosity was very much appreciated. A celebration of life is taking place on Saturday, July 9th from 1pm to 4 pm at the Callander Legion. Meata’s Memories, fun and laughter will be celebrated. Expressions of sympathy can be made by donation to the North Bay Regional Health Centre and the WISH program to give those at the end of life a last wish.
