Obituary of Kit Topliss
TOPLISS; Theodore A. “Kit”
August 6, 1936 – March 19, 2022
With profound sadness the family announces the passing of our beloved Kit. After 56 years of marriage, he passed peacefully in the arms of his devoted wife, Joy (nee Carlton).
Kit was the son of Peter and Gladys Topliss. Predeceased by his siblings Maddy Dawson and Peter Lucas (Betty). He is survived by his sister Dorothy Janeway (Ben), sister-in-law Carol (Art Watkins) and extended family in Brockville. Kit’s nieces and nephews include Cynthia, Craig and Scott Janeway (Sue), Susan Elliott (Ron), Shannon Blakely (Stuart), Robert Brown and Curtis Offord. He is also survived by a large extended family in Kingston, Brockville and England. He will be missed by his beloved fur-baby-kitty-cat Bella.
The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to LHIN, Bayshore and St. Elizabeth Nursing and in particular the care and comfort of nurse Kathy Pringle, PSW’s Bryson Johnson and Austin Montgomery-Whitmore. Thanks to Doctor’s M. Hagarty, D. Webster and M. Brundage and to the nurses of Connell 9. We wish to extend our thanks and love to our many friends and neighbours and in particular; our kind and generous neighbours on Shore Road who gave so much to help us through a long ordeal. We love you all.
Finally a word to Kit’s many treasured hunting and fishing friends. He valued your friendship and great adventures together. Please have a drink to his memory and recall time spent together at camp or at his beautiful St. Lawrence River Home.
As per his wishes cremation has taken place by James Reid Funeral Home and there will be a private Celebration of Life at a later date. Memorial donations, if desired, are welcomed to a charity of your choice.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Kit
