Kirk Norman Jones Friday July 22nd 2022

Jones, Kirk Norman- Passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife and daughter on July 22, 2022, in his 66th year. Devoted husband of Maureen (Reenie), and adored father of Haelee. Beloved brother and best friend of Brent Jones (Monica Ternay). Much loved brother-in-law of Dan Greer (Lisa Wiggins), Tim Greer (Rachel Stevens). Proud Uncle to Harley (Christina), Rebecca, Samantha, Michael, Meaghan, Alyson, Emily and Jonathan. Will also be missed by his great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Norine Jones, father-in-law Ron Greer and mother-in-law Eileen Greer.
An I.T. professional for over 40 years and a jack of all trades. He was relied on by his family, neighbours and friends to fix problems or have the right tool for the job. They would call for the Captain and he would come running.
He sailed the Caribbean dealing black jack, he dove into deep water with a tank on his back, flew across lakes on a ski named Kidder pulled by a Mercury (the heavy hitter). On his trusty motorcycle or in his supercharged car he rode the rolling hills just for the thrills.
A special thank you to John Cornwell who dropped everything to look after our little dog Moose and was a constant support to Haelee. Of course, a thank you to our family for all you have done for us.
Kirk cherished his friends and wanted to make sure they were acknowledged for all they meant to us. Rick and Laurie, there are just no words for what you meant to him and us, thank you for the love and the laughter and the memories we made together. Allen and Gary, the weekly zoom calls were a source of strength and joy these last couple of years, you are the definition of stand-up guys. Ron, your friendship was so special with your private jokes and shared memories. Mark, you made his dream come true by getting the Harley back on the road, he shared his memories of your younger years together often. Susan, Kirk adored you and treasured our times together, and for bolstering me through life these last few years, you gave me strength to keep moving forward. To our cherished Sir Tristram Family for all the laughs and memories, music and fireworks, what a beautiful place with beautiful people to raise our daughter.
Special thanks to Dr. Leena Hajra and Dr. Julius Toth, it was a privilege to meet you both, you lifted us up at every appointment. Roxanne the nurse extraordinaire, you are an angel. Dr. Berger and the Hill House Hospice staff, thank you for the guidance and kindness through these final days. You are an unbelievable group of people.
As per Kirk’s wishes there will be no funeral, no sadness, perhaps a party down the road to share stories and laughs. He had a love for all genres of music. His wish for everyone is to pick your favourite song and turn it up real loud and dance and sing and know that he is smiling and thankful he shared some of life’s moments with you. When you hear the thunder of a Harley, or the rumble of a muscle car or the hum of the Mercury on the water, listen real close and you will hear Kirk laughing and saying ‘now that’s cool’!
The ultimate father and so proud of Haelee. He sat down for teatime, makeup and Barbies, and then taught her how to fish, snorkel, use power tools or change the oil in the boat and she absolutely adored him for it. They shared a love of food, movies and music. To everyone else he was Captain to Haelee he was daddy.
As my husband and best friend, he was my optimism, my fun, my adventure, my cheerleader and my comfort. He kept me laughing until the end. The profound sadness we feel is a direct reflection of the pure joy he brought to our little family of three. To Haelee and I he was our hero. He was our beacon of light we turned to, he was our home. We will be forever homesick for the times we shared.
You were the coolest, toughest, kindest guy we will ever know. How lucky we were that you were part of our lives. You were simply the best, forever would not have been long enough.
So glad we had this adventure ….
Ride Out Captain.
In lieu of flowers donations to Hill House Hospice or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
