Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Kimmy, surrounded by her loving family, on December 3rd, 2022. Kim was the adoring mother of Sophie and Olivia, beloved wife of Scott. Cherished sister of Melissa, wonderful daughter of Debbie and Jim. Dearest sister-in-law of Jeff and Heather, daughter-in law of Janet, aunt of Dylan, Michelle, Gwendolyn, and Lily.
We will remember Kim as a person who lived life to its fullest. A phenomenal human being who brought love and light to every room she entered, and to every person in it.
Born and raised in Toronto, ON, Kim grew up a caring, smiling, happy kid. She attended Western University where she made lifelong friendships, graduated with honours, and excelled as a member of the varsity water polo team. She became a teacher and was cherished by her students. Kim enjoyed summer weekends at the cottage, a chilled Sauvignon Blanc, time with her dog Evie, and sunny days on the golf course. She loved every opportunity to spend time with her family and friends.
Kim’s love taught us to be kinder. Her laughter taught us to smile more. When faced with the battle of her life, Kim taught us courage. In the end, she taught us strength and selflessness. Kim spent her final days playing with her kids, laughing with her husband, leaning on her sister, hugging her parents, and teasing her friends. She entertained all of us and expressed gratitude for the love in her life.
For her daughters, Kim was loving, attentive, nurturing, and grateful. As they grow up, Sophie and Olivia will learn that their mother was a special and rare person. They will learn that she was funny and sweet. Above all else, they will know that they were the blessing of her life.
In her husband, Kim found her person. True soulmates. Two people perfectly suited for marriage, for friendship, for family, for taking on life as teammates. Kim was Scott’s best friend and his saviour. And though their time together has been cut short, they lived and loved to the fullest, and made each other whole.
For her sister, Melissa, Kim was the light at the end of every tunnel. They faced life together, taking on every challenge, with tenaciousness and courage, holding hands, sisters and best friends.
Debbie and Jim raised a daughter that they were proud of. They were inspired by their daughter and honoured to be her Mom and Dad.
Kim welcomed Janet, Heather, and Jeff to her life, and they loved each other dearly. Kim’s nieces and nephew will remember her as fun-loving, joyous, and kind.
To her many friends, Kim was a confidant, a comedian, a rock, and the life of every party. She gave as good as she got. She made their lives better.
Kim’s place in our lives will never be replaced. Her presence in our hearts will never be lost. It was a privilege to know her. May she rest in peace.
A Celebration of Life will be announced in the coming weeks.
