KIMBERLEY DOREEN ROBSON – Strong Bear Woman
With profound sadness the Robson family announces the sudden passing of Kimberley Doreen
Robson on December 25, 2021. Kimberley was predeceased by her grandparents Ellen Margaret
Johnston, Frank Polycarp Johnston, Beatrice Bunn, Albert Bunn Sr, her mother Doreen Robson, her
father Albert Bunn Jr, as well her Godmother Marie Sinclair-Genaille, brothers Edward, Darren,
nephew Grant, and stepson Nathan.
Kimberley was deeply loved by Charly, her daughters Annaleis, Ana-alicia (Ryan), Cheyenne (Zach),
stepsons Shane and Steffan, stepdaughters Shaina and Regina, and Godchild Phoenix. Kimberley
cherished her grandchildren Gerald, Shyla, Reyna, Kayson, Sethlynn, Raven, Romeo, Trinity,
Brooklyn, Ashton, and granddogs Pesim and Kodi. Kimberley will be sadly missed by her sisters
Janice, Laverne and Elaine (Murray), her brother Chris, as well her many aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, cousins, friends, and colleagues.
In her younger years, Kimberley attended school within the Winnipeg School Division and Red River
Polytechnic. She was an accomplished Life Skills Coach and worked as an Educational Assistant and
a Community Support Worker for the Winnipeg School Division at Shaughnessy Park, Sister
MacNamara and Mulvey Schools. She was known to support all school staff. Kimberley worked
tirelessly at her job and strived to not only create a welcoming parent room, but she also developed
various community programs like nutrition bingo, hampers, and the Pow Wow Club. She accessed
resources for families and wrote numerous school proposals and reports for the benefit of the entire
school community. She was an exceptional Community Support Worker.
Kimberley had a beautiful heart. She always put the needs of her family, friends, and community
members both in Brokenhead and in Winnipeg in front of her own. She was a consummate caregiver
who always rushed to help others in need.
Kimberley had a crazy sense of humor. She was often observed laughing and hugging her family and
friends. Kimberley along with her two sisters Janice and Elaine were jokingly known as The Twisted
Sisters. Kimberley had a deep love for baking and was infamously known for her delicious banana
cream pie, though her personal favourite was raisin pie. She enjoyed sitting around campfires,
swimming with her grandchildren, and singing with cousins and friends in Brokenhead. She was a
master sewer and beader. She used her talent to make traditional regalia for her friends and family.
Kimberley often made traditional regalia for individuals that she worked with, and for the students in
her Pow Wow Clubs who danced at events within the Winnipeg School Division, Friendship Centre in
Portage La Prairie and the Manito Ahbee Annual Festivals. Kimberley was very creative, and she had
a dream to work in a second career in fashion design once she retired from the Winnipeg School
Division.
The Robson family would like to thank the RCMP, the Paramedics, the Medical Examiner’s Office,
Cropo Funeral Chapel, and Bill and Gertie Ballantyne for the special care they gave to Kimberley. The
family will always remember and treasure all the love and contributions we received from our family,
friends and community members. We will be forever grateful. Thank you.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Cook, Greg Robson, Roger Ballantyne, Brian Johnston, Victor Michell,
Brendon Maple, Chase Robson, and Jason Breland
Due to the Pandemic, a private service will be held Sunday January 9, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Private
Tommy Chief Memorial Hall in Scanterbury, Manitoba for invited guests only.
