Memorial Donation
McPHAIL, Kim (nee Winters)
Passed away suddenly in the early hours of January 5, 2022 at age 50 with her son and daughter supporting her final moments. Kim was born on August 11, 1971 in Cornwall, Ontario to Carman and Mary Winters. She graduated from the University of Ottawa in 1996 with an Honours Degree in Psychology. Kim spent the last nine years working for the City of Peterborough as the Assessment Review Officer/Tax Collector. Kim is survived by her two children Emily and Ethan and their father Christopher McPhail. Loving daughter of Carman and Mary Winters and caring older sister of Karen Ashby and Kristin Winters. She was loved by her family and friends. Kim will be remembered for her perserverance through every challenge she faced. Her loyal work ethic is only one of the valuable life lessons and morals she instilled in her children. Kim loved music and could always turn a moment into a dance party. She cared deeply about women’s issues and spent many years volunteering her free time at various women’s shelters. It was important to her that women got the care and support they needed. In respect of that, donations in Kim’s name can be made to Crossroads Women’s Shelter (YWCA Peterborough Haliburton) in Peterborough. Kim was a loving mother, sister, daughter and friend whose kind words and endless support can never be quantified or forgotten. A Celebration of Kim’s Life will be held at a later date.
