December 28, 1966 – September 3, 2022
Kim passed away at the Owen Sound Hospital after a short but hard battle with metastatic breast cancer on September 3rd, 2022, she was 55 years old. She loved spending time with her family, working with her amazing business partner, Kathleen Tillson and snuggling with her animals.
Kim was born in Toronto and moved to Bobcaygeon where she met the love of her life, Scott, when she was in the 3rd grade. They pursued their relationship at the age of 15 and never looked back. After travelling around the world, Kim and Scott got married in Jamaica with close friends and family at the age of 24 and 25. Together, they took on the world as best friends and soulmates. They had three beautiful children together, Holly, Jake and Josh, and recently welcomed their first grandchild Blake in February of 2022.
After being a stay at home mom for 8 years, Kim went back to school and got her real estate license. During her real estate journey she made many great, life long friends. One of those friends turned out to be Kathleen. Over the past 10+ years, Kim and Kathleen have loved working together, so much so that they opened their own real estate company, Key Exchange Team. They were the perfect balance, complimenting each other in their work while building a beautiful partnership and business.
During her spare time Kim loved driving up to her hometown, Bobcaygeon where she enjoyed visiting family and friends. She was always grateful for the time she spent with her mom and siblings and usually insisted on stopping for Kawartha Dairy ice cream on the way home.
Kim’s family was her entire world and she cherished every minute with them. She especially loved being a new grammy and snuggling her granddaughter Blake. Family trips were always so fun, from Cape Cod, to Dominican Republic, to Europe, and everywhere in-between, the entire family travelled lots and made so many amazing memories.
Kim will forever be missed by her beloved husband Scott, children Holly (Darren Lyons), Jake and Josh, and granddaughter Blake. She is survived by her mother Christina (Victor) Garbutt, siblings Patty (Shawn) Mills and Ken (Cindy) Mills. She will be cherished by her niece Jess (David) Nelson, nephews David (Natasha) Mills and Justin (Lisa) Mills, great nieces and nephews Mackenzie, Lucas, Abby, Austin, Alexis and Jordyn. She was predeceased by her father Leonard Mills. Life will never be the same without her. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. To Scott and family!
Just heard of Kim’s passing and so very sorry. So shocked. We talked on messenger and the odd time on the phone. Always had good things to say about the family and was so looking forward to being a grandma. Last we spoke was on December 31st. Haven’t seen you in years Kim but you will be greatly missed. With Love. Aunt Flo
Dear Scott and family – I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Kim’s passing. Although we didn’t see each other anymore we occasionally connected on FB and I was so excited to learn she was going to be a grandmother. You could always tell how much she loved her family and my heart breaks for all of you. Sending deepest sympathies to all of you, with love, her cousin Carol
