In Loving Memory
Kenneth John Harris
May 8, 1958 – July 17, 2022
On Sunday, July 17 we lost our best friend, father, papa, mentor, and the love of my life.
Left to mourn his loss is his partner of 45 years Wendy and his children who he loved dearly and was so proud: Rob (Natasha) Harris; Chris Harris, Amanda (Trevor) Carrington and Amanda Jonasson. He was also a doting Papa to Andrew, Taylor, Cole, Kaydence and Avary, and enjoyed many many ‘adopted’ kids–(you all know who you are) who he loved and was a mentor to.
Also left to mourn his loss are siblings Bill & Tracey Harris, Dan & Janice Harris; Linda & Wayne Ewashina; Lynne Scramstad, Sharon and Murray Donchi and many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Ken was pre-deceased by parents William (Ray)& Elizabeth (Betty) Harris, brother Tom Harris, Bill and Elsie Walter, brother-in-law Doug Walter and Lanny Scramstad.
Also, there to greet him are Grant, Kenny, Pat, Roger, and Dave, whom he has missed greatly.
Ken was a happy go-lucky man who loved to socialize and talk to people about their experiences (and his own) He was a loyal friend, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do to help someone out.
Ken was an outdoors guy–and led many of us around back roads and trails, always wanting to try a new path, and never returning the same way he went. He loved to hunt and fish with his buddies, camp, and take road trips.
Ken worked for CN Rail for 35 years, retired and went back for 2 more years with Rocky Mountaineer.
He was a proud member of Barriere Search and Rescue, where he met many lifelong friends. He was involved behind the scenes in many events and activities around the community.
A Celebration of Ken’s life will be help at the Harris’ at 4653 Barriere Town Road on September 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
