It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Kenneth James Sadler of Fruitvale, BC on March 12, 2022 at the age of 58.
Kenny was born in Trail, BC on January 29, 1964; the son of the late Edward and Velma Sadler; the youngest of five children. He was predeceased by his brothers Barrie and Laurie Sadler, his sister Marjorie Mason and his nephew Tyler Shipowich.
He is deeply loved and survived by his sister, Joan Plamondon (Allan) and his brother-in-law Jim Mason. He will be remembered with love by his nieces and nephews; Krista Mason (Doug McKay), Kari Sampson (Tim), Brad Mason (Heather), Jennifer Shipowich (Kevin Cook), Edward Sadler and Erika Summers. He will also be fondly remembered by many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and countless lifelong friends.
Kenny was widely recognized as one of the best guitar players around. He spent his life passionately following his love of music and playing in numerous bands in the area. He was well known as “Satch” (a nickname passed down from his brothers) and he always could be seen sporting his iconic black hat and leather jacket.
As the song goes, “if there is a rock and roll heaven, you know they have one hell of a band”, and Kenny will be right there smoking, drinking and jamming alongside the greats.
Many people will fondly remember him standing on the road with his thumb out. He never waited long for a ride. He enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, and always wanted to play for muggins if you let him.
We are sure that everyone has a favourite story about Kenny, whether it was his sense of humour, his storytelling or a misadventure at a party or two; and who could forget his distinctive laugh.
We are thankful to have had him in our lives and he will be fiercely missed. He left us far too soon, but he will be remembered by all that knew him. Our family will hold him deeply in our hearts forever.
At his request, no service will be held. Cremation has taken place. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
As an expression of sympathy, a donation made to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Kenneth James Sadler March 12th 2022..
