Kenneth Hofer Sunday January 2nd 2022

Ken Hofer, born March 19, 1961, passed away early in the morning on Sunday January 2nd 2022 peacefully at the St Boniface Hospital with his wife Edna by his side.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Edna, children Tyler(Amanda) Hofer, Angela(Chris) Hagyard, Kelsey(Reegan) Wiebe, and grandchild Avalynn. He is also remembered by 6 brothers, Tom(Lillian), Jerry(Tillie), Mel(Linda), Steve, Ronnie(Mary), Joe(Dorene) and 3 sisters Marie, Kathy(Jack), Hilda(James) and their families.
Dad was born in Eli Manitoba in 1961. In his teen years he left the colony and moved to British Columbia where he spent some time. He moved back to Manitoba and met Edna and they married in 1993. In 1996 they moved to Hazelridge to raise their family.
Dad had a long career as a long distance truck driver. He made many trips all over Canada and the U.S. The kids always looked forward to summer holidays when they got to go on a trip with their dad.
Dad was a very hard worker and made sure to spend time with his family on his time off. Dad loved taking us camping and going fishing with the kids. Dad always enjoyed hunting with his son Tyler. Whether it was for ducks, deer, prairie chickens, or their annual moose hunt.
In 2005 Dad and Mom bought an acreage just outside of Cooks Creek Manitoba. Dad enjoyed having his hobby farm there. Over the years he raised sheep, ducks, chickens, and then his favourite the cows. With his time off dad cut and baled hay in the backyard for his animals. Dad was always working and always kept himself busy.
Dad was known for his good poker face. Often people didn’t know when dad was joking around or telling the truth.
Dads sense of humor, charming personality, and big heart will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
We find comfort knowing Dad is with Jesus, free from pain and suffering.
A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:00am at The Church at Pine Ridge. The funeral will be livestreamed for others by going to www.thechurchatpineridge.org
The interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.
