Obituary
Kenneth William Dreger was born in Mossbank, SK on May 17, 1939 and passed away on January 15, 2022 at Pleasant View Care Home in Wadena, SK at the age of 83 years.
Ken grew up on the farm and went to school in Palmer, SK. After school he worked many jobs. He moved to Calgary, AB and worked as a car salesman than worked for J.D for two years as a salesman in Redeer, AB. He moved to Yorkton, SK and worked for New Holland as a salesman for 3 years, then moved to MacNutt, SK where he had the MacNutt Hotel and farmed. He went to the States and done some custom combing there. Ken also did a lot of combining around the MacNutt and Calder areas. Ken was a salesman for Goodman Ford in Roblin, MB. Later Ken, Dean Becker and Hubert Carriere bought out Goodman Ford renaming the business to Cardeagar Ford. They owned and operated the business for several years before selling the dealership to Hubert and Wanda Carriere. Ken continued combining, but only in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Ken and Linda also had a lot of mail trucks, along with seven routes, they hauled mail out of Brandon and Winnipeg.
On January 23, 1986, Ken and Linda Schmollinger were married in the Lutheran church in Roblin, MB. They lived at Lake of the Prairies from 1982-1997 than moving to Margo, SK and becoming owners of the Margo Hotel. In 2000 Ken and Linda bought an acreage north of Margo. Ken had four J.D 9600 combines, so he continued to combine working for Redman Farms, and then for Fidelack Farms.
On April 25, 2012, Ken had a stroke and was hospitalized in Yorkton, SK and received rehabilitation until September 25, 2012 when he was able to come home. The acreage was sold in May of 2013 and they moved to Wadena, SK. Ken lived in the Pleasant View Care Home where he resided until his passing.
Ken loved curling, whether he was participating or watching. He also loved baseball, camping, fishing, and hunting. He especially loved his miniature horses, donkeys, goat, and exotic chickens.
Ken was predeceased by his older brother, Larry (3 years old); his parents, Archie and Jean; his sister, Betty Fox; his in-laws, Charlie and Florence Schmollinger and brother-in-law, Vern Andres.
Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Linda; his children, son, Larry, daughter, Laurie (Pat); son, Darren (Holly), stepdaughter, Candace; grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Herb Fox; three nieces, Kathy, Shelley and Holly and their families; his sisters- in-law, Ownie (George), Ivy Andres, Iris (Walter) Tokar, Donna (Lindsay) Nernberg, Brenda (Frank) Molyneux and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
I would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Wadena Hospital and Pleasant View Care Home for the excellent care they provided for Ken, thank you.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm from the Sneath Strilchuk Chapel in Roblin, MB.
