Ken

Ken Kennedy 1943 2022

It is with utmost sadness that we announce the passing of Ken on August 22, 2022. Ken was born in Winnipeg on October 7, 1943, and after a short battle with cancer, he was taken too soon.
He will be deeply missed by his children Shannon (Barry) and Shaun (Kelly); grandchildren Maegan and Logan; sisters Patricia and Joanna; brothers Tom (Gloria) and Bob (Brenda); numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his loving wife Dolores; his parents George and Muriel; and brothers Jim and Don.
Ken loved Sea Cadets and being deployed to the coast for the summers. Early in his adult years, he met the love of his life Dolores. In 1969, they married and began making memories together. They welcomed Shaun in 1971 and Shannon in 1973 to complete their family. Ken and Dodo (as her called her) enjoyed weekends with the extended family, family camping trips, adventures with the kids, and their dog Moppi.
In 1998, he officially welcomed Kelly to the family when she married Shaun. A few years later, Maegan and Logan came along and made him a very proud grandpa. He loved them very much! He enjoyed travelling to Alberta to visit Shaun and his family. Ken was extremely proud of his children and their career choices. He was also very proud of his grandchildren and their future goals. When he first met Barry, they had an immediate connection and referred to each other as Pops and son #2.
Ken had many hobbies over the years. He played baseball with Manitoba Hydro where he worked for 37 years, loved going for long drives, photography, fishing, target shooting, and ham radio, where he met many life long friends. He loved the people in his life more than they knew and was also loved more than he knew.
We would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care for all their care and support over the past couple of weeks. Also, to his home care team and the staff at Devonshire House. We would especially like to thank his brother, our Uncle Tom for all his help and support.
You’re at peace and back with mom now Dad. We miss you and love you very much.
