Kelsey Troy Carter March 19 1977April 7 2022

It is with profound sadness that we experienced the unexpected passing of Kelsey Troy Carter on April 7, 2022, beloved partner of Cecilia.
Kelsey is survived by his children Erika, Kayla, Serena, and Tristan; grandchildren James and Chloe; parents Ruth and Bruce; sisters Stephanie and Stacey; nieces, nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his grandparents Charles and Barbara Carter and Jack and Helen Sutton. Also survived by Cecilia’s family mother Zenaida and three brothers: Rigo and wife Rosalie with children Khim and Nikki, and two grandchildren; Richie and Jamie, and their two children Brian and Eche and Rod and DeAnn. Sisters Christine and Rikki, with children Bea and Tiktik; sons Russel and Lendle with wife Aerika, and Carlos, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins as well as loving cat, Mr. Magoo.
Kelsey grew up on a rural setting, and had dogs, cats, horses, and other farm animals in his life. He attended elementary and graduated high school in Warren, Manitoba. He was very active in sports, especially baseball and hockey where he was often referred to as “the wrist” because of his preference for the wrist shot rather then the slap shot during his hockey career. Weekends would regularly find him travelling to rural hockey towns around Manitoba, often Sunday mornings listening to the “Sound of Sunday Morning” on the CFRY radio station. He was also active in school intramural sports and track and field. Although not an avid swimmer, Kelsey attained his badges through Red Cross and occasionally was a lifeguard at the local swimming holes.
Kelsey worked at Midway Chrysler, Home Depot, and Prairie West. Enjoyments included repairing most mechanical things, and he was not afraid to work at fixing bicycles and cars and performing home repairs and modifications. He was an avid Lego block builder, spending copious hours constructing Lego sets as well freestyle structures, cars, spaceships, boats and whatever his imagination led him to build. His younger years reading enjoyment included Archie and Jughead comics.
Memorial Service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, with reception following.
