BISHOP, Keith Earl – After a brief illness, Keith passed away at home on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the age of 68 years. He was born in St. John’s, NL, in 1954.
Predeceased by his parents: William and Nellie (Strong) Bishop; and brothers-in-law, David Wicks and David Murphy.
With happy memories, Keith will be sadly missed by his two sisters, Beverley Wicks and Karen Bishop; his special niece and her family, Kara Sheppard, her husband, Stephen and children, Juliana and Joshua; and many extended family and friends.
Keith had a long career in pharmaceutical sales which took him to many Canadian cities. He retired to Nova Scotia 10-years ago. Keith loved travel which he did often, usually to hot sunny places. His sisters and Keith often travelled to Florida together where he especially loved the beach and the pool.
Special thank you to Dr. Lees and the Palliative Care group and their support teams for the care they provided Keith during the last weeks of his life.
Cremation has taken place. The funeral will be held at Woodlawn United Church, 54 Woodlawn Rd., Dartmouth on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. The family requests that masks be worn. Following the service there will be a reception at the Church. Keith’s remains will be returned home to Newfoundland, where interment will take place in the family plot in Clarenville this coming spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to charity of choice or to the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto on-line at www.mcctoronto.com/ using the donate button and selecting “Make an Honourific gift”. Keith first became affiliated with MCC during his time in Toronto. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
