It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Keitha Mae White (nee King) of Sudbury on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the age of 95 years.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Arlif. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Deborah (Rod), Caroyln (Murray), Arlene and Bruce (Tami). Cherished grandmother of Christopher (Miranda), Darren, Shawn (Francine), Laura (Mike), Meaghan (Benjamin), Amy (Shane), Ashley (Dan) & Kayla and great grandmother of Zachary, Paige, Kyle, Ryder, Justin, Alexandre, Emma, Michaela, Quinn, Miles, Bradley, Brodie, Lacey, Carter, Callie, Carsen and Kourtney. Loving sister to Lorma (Grenville) both predeceased and is survived by her brother Garry (Vera). Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Raised on a farm on Manitoulin Island and went to Toronto during WW2 she worked at Campbell’s Soup factory and took a hairdressing course. Moved backed to Manitoulin Island and in 1948 married Arlif White, the love of her life. Moved to Sudbury and alongside her husband built their family home in Walden. They moved to Coniston for a few years in the early 70’s as Arlif was promoted to Staff Sergeant with the Regional Police Department. They moved back to their family home in Walden in 1974 and remained there for the remainder of her husband’s life. Keitha sold the family home in 2006 and relocated to Sudbury to be closer to her children. Keitha was a wonderful homemaker from gardening and preserving foods from the garden, to cooking/baking, knitting and sewing the children’s clothes. She also became the go to babysitter for several of her neighbours.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Manor Pine Section for all their care and compassion as well as the staff at Health Sciences North 4 South.
There was magic in her touch and sunshine in her smile.
There was love in everything she did to make our lives worthwhile.
Donations in her memory to the MS Society of Canada or the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated in her memory.
