Keith Wilbourne Hope Tuesday May 31st 2022

HOPE, Keith Wilbourne
With heavy hearts and much sadness, we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather Keith on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at age 99. Keith was the beloved husband of Meta for 66 years. Born on February 15, 1923, the youngest child of the late Augusta Viola and Cecil Hope; loving dad to Kathy (David) and William (Karen); granddad to Oliva and the late Grayson, and brother-in-law to Eleanor. He was predeceased by his brothers Cecil (Sibylla), Kenneth (Dorothy), Vernon (Thelma) and sister Jasmine (Albert). Uncle to many dear nieces and nephews. Keith was born in Barbados and immigrated to Canada in 1959. In Barbados, he taught at several schools including St. Leonard’s Boys Secondary School. In Canada, he worked at CNR as a pension administrator from 1959 until 1983. He graduated from Sir George Williams University, now Concordia University, with a degree in Commerce in 1963. Keith was a faithful Toronto Blue Jays fan, loved studying the stock market and passionately followed politics. He was an avid gardener with an immaculate lawn. With Meta, he also enjoyed both completing crosswords and taking very long walks. Keith’s family appreciates the exceptional care provided by the personal support workers, nurses, and his doctor at Kipling Acres Long Term Home and is especially grateful for the caring and patience provided by his son-in-law David Lewis. To honour Keith’s wishes private family cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Keith’s Life will be held at a later date. If desired, donations in his memory can be made to Diabetes Canada.
