Obituary
On May 11th, 2022, Keith Webb Irwin, 93, with his wife Joyce by his side, changed his address from Portage – la Prairie to Heaven.
Keith was born on December 22nd, 1928, in Portage La Prairie, to Arthur William/Buck (Pogue) Irwin and Lorna Valentine Irwin.
Keith’s early years were full of adventures with his childhood friend Keith Bowes.
In 1947, he married Margaret McCartney and in 1950 their son Jim was born. Shortly after this, Margaret passed away.
On May 23rd, 1952 he married Joyce Webber. They spent the following years raising 5 more children. Over the course of their 71 years of marriage, they lived in 20 different locations.
Keith worked hard in several careers starting with Portage Soda Waterworks, driving taxi, and finally the Manitoba Developmental Center for 37 years until his retirement in 1988. In addition, he found satisfaction and success in selling Amway Products and several other different ventures.
In his early 30’s Keith’s life was changed when he encountered Christ. He spent many years growing in faith at Christian Family camps, Strawberry Lake and Rock Lake. He and Joyce poured their lives into serving God and people by being an integral part of establishing “The Gathering Place” in Portage.
Keith had passion to serve the Lord in every way he could. He had Tambouring, Maracas and Spoon playing skills that were unforgettable. He loved to talk to everyone he met and his humor and contagious laughter were always uplifting.
Keith was predeceased by his parents, first wife Margaret, 2 siblings in infancy, daughter in-laws Mary and Joan Irwin, and sister-in-law Irene Irwin.
Currently remaining at earthly addresses he leaves his wife Joyce Irwin of almost 71 years, 6 children Jim, Wayne, Heather, Brent (Donna), Shelley (Kelvin), Tim (Erica), 23 grandchildren Casey (Melinda), Lindsay (Brendan), Mike, Dustin (Dezzie), Brandon (Miriam), Adam (Alissa), Miles (Breanne), Luke (Brynn), Jesse (Carrie), Matthew (Autumn), Michelle (Jonathon), Vincent, Chris, Terilynn (Kirk), Tryston (Airon), Sarah-Dawn (Alex), Dallas, April, Earl, JC, Kristy-Layne (Richard), Shelby (Angie), Tianna (lan), 38 great-grandchildren Tristan, Bailey, Caleb, Alice, Lucy, Ayden, Ciara, Emery, Lucy, Colby, Leah, Baylie, Sawyer, Jaxx, Ari, Lane, Khloe, Kyla, Grady, Jared, Jaylin, Callie, Judah, Noah, Tyler, Jakob, Breanne, Ayla, Zyia, Zari, Aleeyah, Arianne, Slade, Elora, Isabel, Nate, Avery, Lachlan.
