It is with great sadness that the family of Keith Jeffery Wilson announces his passing on July 11, 2022, at the age of 61 at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Keith was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by his parents, William and Dianna Wilson; his two children, Kari and Kiana Wilson; the mother of his children, Karolyn Wilson; sister Joanne (Murray); two brothers, Colin (Jeri), and Darren (Nadine); many nieces, great nieces, nephew, and numerous friends that he considered family.
Keith was born in Dryden, Ontario and at the age of 15 moved to Cairo with his family. He traveled with the family to Malta and then graduated from High School in Singapore.
Keith attended the University of Manitoba and started his first job working in Winnipeg as a welder. Then he continued West to Alberta to work in the Oil and Gas field. He was one of the first few directional drillers in Canada and inspired and mentored many.
Family was so important to him. His girls were so very close to his heart, and he was so proud of all their accomplishments. Keith especially enjoyed watching them play ringette, he was always their biggest fan. You knew when Keith was there without even seeing him, as you could always hear him loudly cheering his daughters on with his cow bell. Keith loved family get-togethers and provided the biggest hugs, stories, and laughter.
Keith loved to travel. When in Malta at the age of 17, he went on a trip with friends to Spain, Italy, Greece, and France. Once the family moved, he had the privilege to visit them in Greece and Venezuela. His work took him around the world as well, to Indonesia and Azerbaijan. Many fun-filled family vacations included Jamaica, Hawaii, Disneyland, and Disney World.
In Keith’s teen years he excelled in basketball and high jump. He grew to become an avid fisherman and loved to go boating, quading, and camping out in the middle of the bush. To pass the time or for a sought-after trophy, Keith loved to play cards, especially crib. He enjoyed watching Sunday sports and was a huge fan of the Buffalo Sabres and Edmonton Oilers.
A Celebration of Keith’s Life will be held later in September
To honor Keith’s love of nature and camping, please consider planting a tree in lieu of flowers.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Keith Jeffery Wilson 2022..
