FUNERAL SERVICES FOR KEITH SCHRIVER WILL BE HELD AT THE CULBERSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL ON SATURDAY, MAY 28, 2022 AT 3:00 PM
Keith Schriver passed away on January 5, 2022, at the age of 81 in his hometown of Woodstock, N.B. He left this world suddenly after a heart attack at Carleton Manor, where he had resided for less than a month.
Keith was a proud, life-long resident of Woodstock and easily recognized by the New York Yankees ball cap he sported about town. He loved to have fun, whether coaching, bowling, playing baseball and golf, or cheering on his beloved Yankees. Another favourite pastime was taking spins in the car, and he enjoyed crossing the border for a hotdog and banana split at the dairy bar.
He had an idyllic childhood, growing up a short stroll from the golf course, where he and the “St. James Street gang” prowled about the woods having cook-outs and BB gun shoot-outs.
As a young man, Keith got his start as a title searcher with lawyer Paul Maddox. He worked long hours, as the construction of the Mactaquac Dam resulted in a flood of business. The work appealed to him and became his life-long profession. He worked well into his 70s, adapting to computers with ease.
Keith married Ann Collicott in 1964, and they enjoyed 50 years together. A devoted husband, he nursed Ann throughout her struggle with cancer, even travelling daily between the Saint John Regional Hospital, where he himself was undergoing radiation, and the Upper River Valley Hospital to see Ann.
Keith was always singing the praises of their four children, who dearly loved him. Joel, born last, kept Keith young as they covered many miles travelling to hockey games.
Keith will best be remembered for his kind heart and his mischievous sense of humour. We will miss him.
He is survived by his sister, Sheila Bannister and his children and grandchildren: Corinne Wasilewski (Slawek) of Sarnia, Ont. and their son Rowan; Michelle Schriver (Michael Beach) of Toronto, Ont. and their children Isabel, Lemuel, Augusta, Cyrus; Trevor Schriver (Meagan) of Hamilton Ont. and children Connor, Evan, Evie, Olivia; and Joel Schriver (Becky) of Cramahe, Ont.
Funeral service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harvest House Woodstock (123 Foundry Street, P.O. Box 6199, Woodstock, NB) or the Canadian Red Cross (115 King Street, Woodstock, NB E7M 2Y4)
Arrangements with The Culberson Funeral Home 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, NB E7M 1L8.
