Obituary of Kathy Roy
The family of Kathryn “Kathy” Ann Roy is saddened to announce her sudden passing on October 23rd at her home in Westville.
Born in Amherst, NS on March 20th, 1961, Kathy moved to Westville in 1978 where she graduated with honors from a one year business education program, raised her family and spent most of her career at the New Glasgow Public Library. She had a great love for animals, especially her labradoodle and cats, and she always enjoyed gathering with family and friends where many stories and laughs were shared.
Kathy will be dearly missed by her husband Ronald “Kent” Roy and daughter Charlene Holland (Matthew Veenhuis) and her beloved grandchildren Dylan, Lilah and Chase. Kathy is also survived by her parents, Robert and Jacqueline Carter; her sisters Shauna (Claude) Arseneau, Susan (Glenn) Trueman, Marsha (Timothy) Andrews; her brothers William Carter (Ruth Hubley), Michael Carter (Karen Rushton); her step-daughter Samantha Duggan, her step-grandchildren Caleb and Chloe, and several nieces and nephews.
She loved her family and will be greatly missed.
Kathy is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville where visitations will be held on Thursday, October 27th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm . Her funeral service will be held on Friday, October 28th at 1pm.from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Donations in memory of Kathy may be made to the Nova Scotia SPCA. Online condolences may be made at www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
