Obituary of Kathy McColgan
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Kathleen Frances McColgan announces her passing on Monday, February 14, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 27, 1952, in St. Catherines, PE, she was a daughter of the late Alice (Pilley) and Daniel MacNeill.
Kathy found great joy in volunteering her time with Hospice, Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home, and Grace Presbyterian Church. She was a gracious hostess and loved to cook for family and friends. You rarely left her house without a treat in your hand! Kathy loved life, especially new life. She adored her cherished grandson Jack, which gave her new energy and zest for life.
Kathy will be remembered by her loving husband of 51 years, Robert; daughter, Kathleen Beamish (Patrick); sisters, Marilyn Clark (David) and Eileen Lunnie (Bob); brothers, Gordon MacNeill (Doris), Chester MacNeill (Wilma) and Everett MacNeill (June); brother-in-law, Bill Shuve; beloved grandson, Jack; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her son, Michael Daniel; daughter, Krista Lee; sisters, Brenda Shuve, Jean Gould (Steve), and Myrtle McNevin (Charles); and brother, Terry MacNeill (Brenda).
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A private family Funeral Service will take place. Due to Covid-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government-issued ID or proof of medical exemption.
