Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Katherine Theresa Durrer (nee Goetz), cherished wife of the late Claire Durrer, announce her passing on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the age of 89 at the Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton, Ontario.
Katherine will be lovingly remembered by her children David (Terry Lynn), Jane (Greg) and Bruce (Sally); grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah (Amy), Matthew, Jeremy, Cody, Kimiko and Alexandra; siblings Bob and Bruce (Gerry) Goetz, numerous other family members and friends.
Predeceased by her parents John “Jack” and Arsenia (Babe) (nee Kramer), siblings Allan (Harriet), Jim (Christine), Eileen (Horace) Finbow, Lloyd, Lorne (Joan), Raymond (Edna) and Helen Howard.
The family would like to acknowledge the incredible, tender and compassionate care provided by the doctors and nurses at the Saugeen Memorial Hospital during her final days, the assistance provided by the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario and the wonderful care she received from the staff at Elgin Lodge.
Katherine, fondly known as Kaye, volunteered for 20 years at University Hospital in London, Ontario. She doted on her family and was happiest when hosting gatherings with her homemade scrumptious food. A dinner prepared by Kaye was an unforgettable treat and will be remembered with great fondness.
A private family celebration of life will be held and live streamed on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1:00pm in the chapel of the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, Port Elgin. Family and friends wishing to view the celebration of life may do so on Facebook @BrownFamilyFH or in the service details below.
