It is with a deep sense of gratitude that we remember the life of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Gary Kastendieck, who passed away on January 21, 2022 at the age of 86 years.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Uta (née Krug), and their five children, Werner (Colleen) Kastendieck, Heide (Daryl) Neis, Karen (Allan) Hills, Kenneth (Jennifer) Kastendieck and Gerald (Karen) Kastendieck. He is also survived by three sisters, Betty (Robert) Richardson, Irma Krug (wife of the late Lebrecht Krug), and Irene (John) Krowchuk as well as one brother Fred Kastendieck. Grandpa Gary will be lovingly remembered by his 27 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Eckart and Elisabeth (née Maladinsky) Kastendieck, as well as two brothers, Werner, and Herman Kastendieck.
He was a man of faith, dedicated to service. He was always eager to help others with a smile on his face. Many lives have been blessed because of their association with him. His greatest pride and joy were his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held in his honour on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
