Karli Dawn Laamanen
Karli “Karls” Laamanen was a caring mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world suddenly, but peacefully, on November 28, 2022, at age 48 and much too soon.
She was born to Aino and Risto on June 7, 1974. An accomplished and decorated downhill ski racer in high school, Karli completed degrees in Fine Arts at Western University and Graphic Design at George Brown College. She went on to aptly apply her artistic vision, skill and passion for art and design.
Karli was a dedicated mother and caring soul. She treasured her son, Fynn, and genuinely embraced every moment she had with him. He was the center of her universe. She was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others, and incorporated that in her motherhood. She believed that “each tomorrow depends on the love you give today.”
Dear sister to Melissa, Kris (Danielle), and Sara. Loving aunt to Thalia, Townes, McArthur (Mac), Ava and Livia. Sweet dog mom to her girl, Blu. Cherished and devoted friend to Julie, Gillian, Stephanie, Spencer, and many others.
Karli loved to love on people. She made a mean Finnish pancake, had a penchant for fine wool socks, neatly stacked firewood, hot saunas, and cold lakes. Deeply spiritual, a lover of the intricacies of nature and Outlaw country, her broad smile and loving embrace will be so dearly missed.
There will be no funeral visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada would be appreciated
