Rideout: Karen Dawn (nee Ackland)
On November 7 2022 in her 75th year. The world lost a compassionate, loving and generous person. Weston James Rideout, retired RCMP, married 50 years, lost the love of his life. She is now reunited in heaven with her father Kingsley Ackland of the Ottawa Police Department, her mother Helen Iris Ackland (nee Truesdell), her beloved Nana, Leone (Tom) Truesdell and her two wonderful Uncles, Ivan (Peggie) and Eric (Jackie) Truesdell. The depth of loss felt by her daughter, Heather Dawn Rideout-Massie and her husband Jon along with her beloved grandchildren Matthew and Emma Dawn is endless. Her forever loving and devoted brother, Dr. Michael Ackland along with his wife Opal Ackland, will always have a part of their heart missing. She also left a brother Brian (Myrna). She will be missed by her wonderful Aunts, June (Doug) Gilbert, Lorraine (Ross) Martin, her many cousins and other family members who always loved and cared for her. Karen always resonated positivity as a civil member of RCMP (CSIS), a Registered Nurse and a member of the Gananoque Legion Women’s Auxiliary. A special thank you to the Palliative Care team from St. Elizabeth for their support and guidance. The family will receive friends on Sunday November 13 from 1:00 until time of service in our chapel at 2:00 pm with The Venerable John M. Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Union cemetery, Lansdowne. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the UHKF cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
