1956 – 2022
Karen Martinez, of Eel Ground, NB, wife of Chris Ward passed away at her residence on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the age of 65. Born in Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Doris Ginnish and Raul Aldrich.
Karen lived in New York, before returning to Eel Ground in 1991. She opened her home and fostered children for many years. She enjoyed painting, playing the guitar and singing.
Karen is survived by her father, Raul Aldrich of Florida, USA; children: Darian Martinez (Jessica Savoy), Philip Cloud, River Ward, Tristian Paul and Erica Ward; grandchildren: Kylan, Jax, Kobe and Kasher; sister: Arlene Denston (Carl Simon) and sister-in-law: Karen Aldrich, all of Eel Ground, NB as well as several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her mother: Doris; sons: Roger ”Pilo” Brenes and Tanner Cloud and brother: Paul Aldrich.
Visitation will held at Bell’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, Eel Ground, NB at 2:00 PM with Father Peter Aloo officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, in Karen’s memory donations may be made to a children’s charity of one’s choice. Messages of condolence for the family can be sent through the funeral home website at www.bellsmeadows.com
