In loving memory of Karen Lillian Lowe who passed away peacefully at her Midland home in the arms of her husband, Timothy Martin on Friday November 11, 2022. Karen leaves behind her mother Shirley Lillian Rufh of Mississauga, her sister Marlene Rufh-Recasens of St. Catherine’s, her sister Loraine Verners-Rufh of Winona and her brother Kevin Rufh of Barrie. She will be missed by in-laws, Bryan and Amanda Martin and Jennifer and Trent Kroschel and collectively their children; Ashleigh Kroschel, Amelia Kroschel, Emmitt Kroschel, Emily Martin and Daniel Martin. She will also be remembered by her many nieces and nephews; Sheena Poitevin, Dana Rufh, Scott Recasens, Allyson Recasens-Reynolds, Richard Rufh, Keanna Rufh, Sarah Burnett and Shane Burnett. Cherished life-long friends include Keith and Denise Burnett and Tom and Kate Barfoot.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551. A funeral service will be held on January 3, 2023 at 2 o’clock at Saint Peter’s Anglican Church, 3041 Mississauga Rd, Mississauga, with internment of ashes at St. John’s Cemetery on the Humber in Weston in May of 2023.
Many thanks to the physicians, surgeons, nurses and social workers of Bayshore HealthCare, Georgian Bay General Hospital and Royal Victoria Hospital. Donations to the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

  1. Our deepest condolences to Tim and families of Tim and Karen. We were very saddened to hear about Karen. We met Karen and Tim on a European Battlefield tour in 2019 and have many fond memories of them and that trip. She will be greatly missed! Brent and Kellie
