It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear, Karen Ann Powers. Predeceased by both her parents, Foster Andrew Powers, and Grace Winifred Powers (Gowans). Loving sister of Janice Powers and Nancy McDowall (Ken). Karen will also be greatly missed by two generations of nieces and nephews: Jenn St. Aubin (Tim Butt) [Emily, Liam, Sara]; Andrea St. Aubin (Patrick Brady); Jeffrey Powers (Jess McLeod) [Hunter, Logan]; Gail Bowles Fraser (Paul); Glenn Bowles (Colleen) [Charlie, Gillian]; Cheryl McDowall Edwards (Pascal) [Zachary]; Wayne McDowall; and Heather McDowall Ali (Jody) [Hannah, Sarah].
Karen belonged to Rexdale Presbyterian Church, and Highway Terrace’s Seniors Club. She will be remembered for her heavy involvement within the church and her community. Karen had a heart of gold. If she wasn’t at a community event, she was checking in on her friends and neighbours and giving them a helping hand.
The family would like to thank the staff at CANES Community Care, along with the management, staff and residents at Highway Terraces Seniors Apartments and members of Rexdale Presbyterian Church A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 21 at 2:00pm (Rexdale Presbyterian Church, 2314 Islington Avenue, Toronto).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rexdale Presbyterian Church.
